Pengaruh Pupuk Kandang Ayam terhadap Pertumbuhan Tanaman Serai Wangi (Cymbopogon nardus L.)

Abstract


Citronella grass is a plant that can produce essential oil. The productivity of citronella grass can be increased through fertilization by applying chicken manure. The study aimed to identify the effect of chicken manure on the growth of citronella grass. This study was conducted in Liluwo Village, Kota Tengah Subdistrict, Gorontalo City, Gorontalo Province, for three months from October to January 2021. Besides, the research method employed Randomized Block Design (RBD) with four treatments, namely without fertilizer, chicken manure : soil (1:1), chicken manure : soil (1:2), chicken manure soil (1:3). The treatments were replicated three times, thus there were 12 plots. At the same time, the data analysis applied analysis of variance (ANNOVA), and then the further test used Least Significant Difference (LSD) test at the significance level of 5%. The finding showed that the treatment, namely the provision of chicken manure, has a significant effect on the growth of the citronella plant that was indicated by plant height,number of leaves, and number of tillers. In addition, the best result was obtained in the treatment of chicken manure : soil (1:3).
