Respon Pertumbuhan dan Hasil Tanaman Cabai Rawit (Capsicum frutescens L.) Melalui Pemberian Pupuk Kompos Padat dan Kompos Cair

Abstract


The low production of cayenne pepper can be enhanced by applying inorganic fertilizer. However, a long term application of such fertilizer can reduce the phyisical, chemical, and biological properties of soil so that in requires enviromentally friendly fertilizer, namely organic fertilizer. The research aims to find out the growth and yield response of cayenne pepper (Capsicum frutescens L.) plant through applying solid and liquid compost fertilizer. The research is conducted in Molosifat Village. Sipatana sub-district Gorontalo City, from November 2019 to March 2020. The research applies factorial randomized block design where its first factor covers control, 5 and 10 ton ha-1 and second cover control, 50 and 75 ml/plot where they are replicated three times. The data analysis employs analysis of variance (ANOVA) and is followed by least significant difference test at level of 5%. The research finding indicates that the solid compost for 10 ton ha-1 and liquid compost 75 ml/plot provide the best result for the growth and yield of cayenne pepper plant.
