Pengaruh Pemberian Pupuk Organik Dan Waktu Penyiangan Terhadap Pertumbuhan Dan Hasil Tanaman Kacang Hijau (Vigna radiata L.)

Abstract


Mung bean (Vigna radiata L.) is an important source of plant-based protein in Indonesia. However,

national mung bean production has not met domestic demand due to suboptimal cultivation techniques,

particularly in fertilization and weed control. This research aims to examine the effect of chicken manure

organic fertilizer application and weeding time on the growth and yield of mung bean plants. The research

was conducted in Libungo Village, Suwawa Subdistrict, Bone Bolango Regency, Gorontalo Province, from

February to April 2025 This research was designed using a factorial Randomized Block Design (RBD). The

first factor was the dose of chicken manure organic fertilizer: 15 Tons/Ha (P1) and 30 Tons/Ha (P2). The

second factor was weeding time no weeding (W0), weeding at 7 and 14 days after planting (DAP) (WI),

and weeding at 7, 14, and 21 DAP (W2) Observational data were analyzed using ANOVA, followed by the

Least Significant Difference (LSD) test at a 5% significance level if significant effects were found. The

results indicate that the application of chicken manure organic fertilizer had no significant effect on any of

the observed parameters. However, the weeding treatment at 7 and 14 DAP (W1) had a significant effect

on the yield per plot. The two-time weeding treatment at 7 and 14 DAP produced the highest yield of 181.86

grams. This treatment increased production from 0.87 Tons/Ha to 1.21 Tons/Ha, representing a 28.09%

increase compared to the no-weeding treatment. There was no interaction between the two treatment

factors.
