PENINGKATAN VIABILITAS BENIH PARE (Momordica charantia L) MELALUI INVIGORASI
Abstract
This study aims to identify the effect of invigoration and soaking duration on the growth in
germination of bitter melon (Momordica Charantia L) seeds. This study was conducted in Popodu
Village,Jln.KH Abbas Rauf, Bolango Timur Sub-district, Bone Bolango Regency.This study uses
Factorial Completely Randomized Design (CRD).The solution factor consists of 4 treatments,
including LO = Control,L1= Coconut Water,L2=Shallot Extract, and L3=PEG 6000. The soaking
duration factor consists of 3 treatments,including W1=6 hours,W2 =9 hours,and W3 = 12
Hours.Parameters observed are maximum growth potential,power germinated, growth rate, growth
simultaneity, hypocotyl length,and radicular length. The data are analyzed using analysis of variance
(ANNOVA) technique and continued with BNT test at 5% level. The finding shows that the
application of several types of solutions and the soaking duration do not show an interaction. The
application of PEG 6000 solution is able to make the viability of bitter melon seeds better than other
types of solutions on the parameters of growth potential, power germinated,growth rate, growth
simultaneity, hypocotyl length, and radicular length. Finally,the soaking duration of 6 hours,9
hours,and 12 sgnificant effect.
