Aplikasi Jenis Mulsa Organik Dan Jumlah Benih Per Lubang Tanam Terhadap Pertumbuhan Dan Hasil Kacang Hijau (Vigna radiata L.)

Abstract


Organic mulch treatment and determination of the number of seeds per planting hole are

expected to suppress weed growth and minimize plant density in order to obtain optimal

production results. This study aimed to determine the effect of the type of organic mulch and the

number of seeds per planting hole and its interactions as well as to identify the most appropriate

treatment combination for the growth and yield of mung beans. Additionally, present study was

carried out from October to January 2022 in Bolihungga Village, Limboto Subdistrict,

Gorontalo Regency. At the same time, it employed a factorial randomized block design where

the first factor is the type of organic mulch with 3 levels and the second factor was the number

of seeds per planting hole with two levels. The analysis of variance depicted that the organic

straw and rice husk mulch treatment significantly affected plant height, number of leaves,

number of pods and dry seed weight per plant. The number of seeds per planting hole

significantly effect plant height at four and six weeks after planting (WAP) and the number of 

leaves at four weeks after planting (WAP). Besides, the straw mulch treatment with two seeds

per planting hole was the best treatment.
