Pontential Of Biomass add Carbon Storage in Rubber (Hevea brasiliensis) Plantation at Different Ages
Abstract
This study aims to know the potential of biomass and carbon storage in rubber plantation. This study was carried out in Paguyaman Sub-district, Boalemo Regency from April to June 2021. There are 4 (four) research plots with a size of 100 m x 25 m. There plots are used to collect chest-height diameter data from rubber plants. There 10 subplots in each plot with a size of 50 cm x 50 cm. There subplots are used to collect data from undergrowth and litter. The data analysis to calculate rubber plant biomass user allometric equations and then converted to carbon. The calculation of the biomass of undergrowth and litter used the Hairiah and Rahayu (2007) formula and converted it into carbon. The finding shows that the biomass and carbon storage in rubber plant reach 225.35 tons/ha and 105.91 tons/ha. The biomass and carbon of undergrowth plants reach 17,8 tons/ha and 8,20 tons/ha, while the biomass and carbon of litter reach 9,20 tons/ha and 4,24 tons/ha.
