Abstract
Single crystals of (Ph4P)DyCl4(CH3CN) is obtained from the reaction of dysprosium trichloride, DyCl3 with tetra phenyl phosphonium chloride, Ph4PCl in acetonitrile. The crystal
structures monoclinic, P21/n Z = 4, a = 997.3(5); b = 1835.8(7); c = 1626.7(5) pm, ? = 104.67(4)o; R1 = 0.0469, wR2 = 0.0971 for I>2?(I)] contain the dimeric anions [Dy2(?2-Cl)2(?1- Cl)6(CH3CN)2]2-
and (Ph4P)+ cation in slightly different packing modes.
