PROGRAM EDUKASI PEMILAHAN SAMPAH DAN KONSEP 3R SEBAGAI STRATEGI PENINGKATAN LITERASI LINGKUNGAN PADA SISWA SMAN 1 KABILA

Abstract


This community service program aimed to enhance the environmental literacy of students at SMAN 1 Kabila through an educational initiative focusing on waste segregation and the 3R concept. The program was implemented through several stages, including preparation, educational activities, interactive discussions, and evaluation using pre-test and post-test instruments. The educational materials covered waste classification, waste segregation techniques, the application of the 3R principles, and the economic potential of recyclable waste. The results demonstrated an improvement in students’ understanding, with the average score increasing from 53% in the pre-test to 76% in the post-test. These findings indicate that interactive educational approaches incorporating visual media and discussion are effective in improving students’ environmental literacy. It is expected that the program can be sustained through continuous support from the school and the provision of adequate waste segregation facilities.
