PEMERIKSAAN BAKTERI ESCHERICHIA COLI DAN TOTAL COLIFORM PADA AIR MINUM SEBAGAI UPAYA PEMANTAUAN PENYAKIT TULAR PANGAN

Abstract


Kontaminasi tinja pada air minum masih terjadi di seluruh dunia. Air minum dapat terkontaminasi oleh patogen yang berasal dari sumber air baku yang tercemar oleh tinja manusia dan hewan. Escherichia coli (E. coli) digunakan sebagai indikator untuk menilai kualitas air dan dapat menyebabkan penyakit pencernaan. Kebaruan dalam penelitian ini yaitu meneliti tentang pemeriksaan bakteri Escherichia coli dan total coliform pada air minum sebagai upaya pemantauan penyakit tular pangan. Penelitian ini bersifat deskriptif, dengan fokus menggambarkan keberadaan E. coli dan total bakteri Coliform pada air minum. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain cross-sectional, dengan pengukuran dilakukan pada satu titik waktu. Penelitian dilakukan pada tanggal 24 Juli 2024. Sampel air minum dikumpulkan dari 11 depot air minum isi ulang dengan menggunakan teknik grab sampling. Pengujian bakteri dilakukan di Laboratorium Balai Teknik Kesehatan Lingkungan dan Pengendalian Penyakit (BTKLPP) Kota Ambon. Hasilnya menunjukkan bahwa bakteri E. coli dan total Coliform ditemukan di 11 depot yang diuji. Konsentrasi E. coli tertinggi adalah 8 CFU/100 mL, dan konsentrasi total Coliform tertinggi adalah 77 CFU/100 mL. Penelitian ini dapat disimpulkan bahwa keberadaan bakteri E. coli dan Total Coliform masib ditemui di depot air minum Desa Latuhalat dan Desa Amahusu. Kontaminasi ini disebabkan oleh sanitasi peralatan yang buruk dan praktik kebersihan pribadi yang tidak memadai.
