PENERAPAN ARSITEKTUR NEO-VERNAKULAR PADA RANCANGAN UNIVERSITAS NAHDLATUL ULAMA GORONTALO

Abstract

ABSTRACT.

Universitas Nahdlatul Ulama Gorontalo is a private university in Gorontalo province, where limited infrastructure availability is one of the prime factors to the lack of effectiveness in its learning processes. As an institute of higher learning, comprehensiveness in infrastructure is an obligation in terms of education, research, and development execution as the university functions based on national standards for an institute of higher learning. The purpose of design for Universitas Nahdlatul Ulama Gorontalo is to realize a design for building and infrastructure for the university environment that is based on national standards with a neo vernacular architecture approach to represent Gorontalo culture in its design and to accommodate every academic and non-academic activity in order to implement the three principles of higher education. This qualitative study collected the data and employed contextual design analysis as a comprehensive pre-design process in anticipation of future potentials through observations of current conditions. The estimated finding is the realization of the design concept that will be implemented in designing Universitas Nahdlatul Ulama Gorontalo.

ABSTRAK.

Universitas Nahdlatul Ulama Gorontalo adalah salah satu perguruan tinggi swasta di provinsi Gorontalo. Ketersediaan prasarana yang terbatas menjadi salah satu faktor utama kurang efektifnya kegiatan belajar mengajar di Universitas Nahdlatul Ulama Gorontalo. Sebagai institusi perguruan tinggi, kelengkapan prasarana menjadi tuntutan dalam pelaksanaan pendidikan, penelitian dan pengembangan sebagaimana fungsi perguruan tinggi yang tertuang dalam standar nasional perguruan tinggi. Tujuan rancangan Universitas Nahdlatul Ulama Gorontalo agar terwujudnya sebuah rancangan gedung dan prasarana lingkungan kampus Universitas Nahdlatul Ulama Gorontalo yang sesuai dengan standar nasional perguruan tinggi dengan menggunakan pendekatan arsitektur neo vernakular untuk merepresentasi kebudayaan Gorontalo ke dalam rancangan dan dapat mengakomodasi segala aktivitas akademik dan non-akademik dalam kampus sebagai upaya mengamalkan Tri Dharma Perguruan Tinggi. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode pengumpulan data kualitatif dan metode analisis perancangan kontekstual sebagai salah satu proses pradesain yang komprehensif dalam mengantisipasi potensi di masa yang akan datang melalui observasi pada kondisi saat ini. Hasil akhir dari penelitian ini yaitu terwujudnya konsep perancangan yang akan digunakan dalam rancangan Universitas Nahdlatul Ulama Gorontalo.
