 University libraries function as integral institutions serving the academic community by providing essential resources such as information, knowledge, and various references. These libraries play a critical role in supporting their users. As foundational entities, university libraries are tasked with achieving their objectives and implementing policies aimed at enhancing community development by addressing user behavior patterns within reference spaces. This study focuses on analyzing the spatial organization of the reading areas at Hasanuddin University Library, specifically within its reference rooms. A rationalistic qualitative research method was employed, grounded in the principle that knowledge emerges from intellectual comprehension, developed through systematic and logical argumentation. The findings indicate that user behavior within the reference rooms of Hasanuddin University Library can be classified into two primary categories based on visitation frequency. Reference areas equipped with adequate facilities are observed to be significantly more attractive to users for engaging in activities compared to areas with less developed facilities.
