PEMBERDAYAAN MASYARAKAT UNTUK MENDUKUNG EKOWISATA KAWASAN PESISIR PARIGI MOUTONG

Abstract

Coastal ecosystems have the potential to be used as tourist areas.  Utilization of ecosystems as tourist areas that will provide spiritual benefits especially economically for the people who live around the coastal ecosystems or people who want to get the services provided directly by these ecosystems.  The purpose of this research is to support ecotourism in the coastal area of Parigi Moutong to identify and analyze the potential for ecotourism in the coastal area and involve the local community in the management and development of sustainable tourism.  This study uses a literature review method in which researchers conduct a series of studies involving various kinds of information from literature such as books, journals, documents and other literary sources, in order to obtain conclusions about how to empower the community to support ecotourism in coastal areas.  The results of the study show that community empowerment can be seen from three types of sides, namely creating a climate atmosphere, strengthening potential or power and empowering the people in the sense of protecting.  The research conclusions can emphasize the need for cross-sector collaboration between the government, local communities, non-governmental organizations, and the private sector in supporting community empowerment and ecotourism development.  Involving various related parties can strengthen efforts to protect the environment and develop ecotourism in a sustainable manner.
