Penentuan Nilai SPF Secara In Vitro Ekstrak Kulit Durian (Durio zibethinus Murr.) Varietas Montong

Abstract


Durian variety montong contains flavonoid compounds. These compounds have activity as natural sunscreens. The purpose of this study was to determine the SPF value of 96% ethanol extract of durian fruit skin with concentration variations of 2000 ppm, 2500 ppm, 3000 ppm, and 3500 ppm. The results of phytochemical tests using the shibita test method, pew's test, and NaOH test showed the presence of flavonoids in the durian skin extract of the montong variety. In the in vitro SPF value determination test with a concentration of 2000 ppm of 18.99 ± 0.03; 2500 ppm of 24.98 ± 0.30; and 3000 ppm of 27.88 ± 0.21. The SPF value is included in the moderate category. At a concentration of 3500 ppm, durian skin extract has an SPF value of 32.06 ± 1.03 which is included in the very high category. The conclusion of this study is that durian skin extract has activity as a sunscreen with the highest SPF value obtained at a concentration of 3500 ppm.
