Abstract

Medicinal plants have become a source of bioactive compounds that are effective in treating various types of diseases, one of the Indonesian plants commonly used in traditional medicine is the red betel plant (Piper crocatum). The red betel plant (Piper crocatum) is included in the Piperaceae family which contains chemicals with properties specifically called secondary metabolites. Secondary metabolite compounds found in Piper crocatum are alkaloids, saponins, tannins and flavonoids. In the research of Hong Xu Li, Seo Young Yang, Ho Kim Muda, and Wei Li (Dua & Baru, 2019) with the title "Isolation of Two New Compounds and Other Constituents from Piper crocatum Leaves and Study of Their Soluble Epoxide Hydrolase Activity" there was one compound, namely, benzyl β-D-glucoside is discussed in this journal. Prediction of physicochemical properties such as: molecular weight (BM): 270.281 g/mol, logarithm of the octanol/water partition coefficient (Log P): -0.9969, number of bonds between atoms that can rotate (Torsion) Hydrogen Bond Acceptors (HBA): 6 , Hydrogen Bond Donors (HBD): 4, and Polar Surface Activity (PSA): 110,384 carried out using the pkCSM online tool. The results of in silico analysis using PkCSM show that the benzyl β-D-glucoside compound meets the requirements of Lipinski's law of five and means that the compound has the potential to be easily absorbed.
