Abstract

The ability of endophytic microbes is to produce compounds similar to their host plants, one of which is producing extracellular enzymes. This study aims to determine the extracellular enzyme activity of endophytic microbes of Mangrove plants (Rhizophora mucronata) from the Tomini Bay area. This study used an experimental method carried out in the Pharmaceutical Microbiology Laboratory using the disk diffusion technique (Kirby Bauer) to test extracellular enzyme activity. The results of the extracellular enzyme activity test of the four isolates showed that all four isolates had extracellular enzyme activity. From this study, it can be concluded that endophytic microbes from the Tomini Bay area have an Enzyme Activity Index (IAE) value with a small to large hydrolytic zone.
