Open Access Policy
This journal provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge.
Publication Ethics
JJSD Jambura: Jurnal Seni dan Desain is a peer-reviewed journal published by the Department of Fine Arts and Design, Gorontalo State University. This journal is available in print and bold, and upholds high publication ethics and avoids all forms of plagiarism. This statement clarifies the ethical behavior of all parties involved in the publication process of articles in this journal, including the authors, the editor-in-chief, the editorial board, peer reviewers, and the publisher (Department of Fine Arts and Design). This statement is based on the COPE Best Practice Guidelines for Journal Editors.
Journal Publication Ethics Guidelines. The publication of an article in a peer-reviewed JJSD journal is an essential building block in the development of a coherent and respected network of knowledge. It is a direct reflection of the quality of the work of the authors and the institutions that support them. Peer-reviewed articles support and embody the scientific method. Therefore, it is important to agree upon standards of expected ethical behavior for all parties involved in the publication process: the authors, the journal editors, the peer reviewers, the publisher, and the society.
The Department of Fine Arts and Design, as the publisher of JJSD, takes its oversight of all stages of publication seriously and recognizes its ethical behavior and other responsibilities. We are committed to ensuring that advertising, reprints, or other commercial revenues do not influence editorial decisions. Furthermore, the Department of Fine Arts and Design and its Editorial Board will assist in communicating with other journals and/or publishers as necessary.
Publication decisions. The editor of Lamahu: Jurnal Pengabdian Masyarakat Terpadu (Journal of Integrated Community Service) is responsible for deciding which articles in the journal should be published. The validation of the work's merits and its importance to researchers and readers must always underpin such decisions. The editors may be guided by the policies of the journal's editorial board and constrained by such legal requirements as shall then be in force regarding libel, copyright infringement, and plagiarism. The editors may collaborate with other editors or reviewers in making this decision.
Fairness. The editors shall at all times publish manuscripts based on their intellectual content without regard to race, gender, sexual orientation, religious belief, ethnic origin, citizenship, or political philosophy of the authors.
Confidentiality. The editor and editorial staff must not disclose any information about a submitted manuscript to anyone other than the author, reviewers, potential reviewers, other editorial advisers, and the publisher, as appropriate.
Disclosure and Conflicts of Interest. Unpublished materials disclosed in a submitted manuscript must not be used in the editor's own research without the author's written consent.

The editors may confer with other editors or reviewers in making this decision.
Fair play. The editor at any time evaluates manuscripts for their intellectual content without regard to the race, gender, sexual orientation, religious belief, ethnic origin, citizenship, or political philosophy of the authors.
Confidentiality. The editor and any editorial staff must not disclose any information about a submitted manuscript to anyone other than the corresponding author, reviewers, potential reviewers, other editorial advisers, and the publisher, as appropriate.

Duties of Reviewers
Contribution to Editorial Decisions. Peer review assists the editor in making editorial decisions and through the editorial communications with the author may also assist the author in improving the paper.
Promptness. Any selected referee who feels unqualified to review the research reported in a manuscript or knows that its prompt review will be impossible should notify the editor and excuse himself from the review process.
Confidentiality. Any manuscripts received for review must be treated as confidential documents. They must not be shown to or discussed with others except as authorized by the editor.
Standards of Objectivity. Reviews should be conducted objectively. Personal criticism of the author is inappropriate. Referees should express their views clearly with supporting arguments.
Acknowledgment of Sources. Reviewers should identify relevant published work that has not been cited by the authors.

Plagiarism Policy
The editorial board of JJSD Jambura: Jurnal Seni dan Desain recognizes that plagiarism is unacceptable and has therefore established the following policy, which outlines specific actions (sanctions) if plagiarism/similarity is found in articles submitted for publication in JJSD. JJSD will use Turnitin originality checking software to detect similarities in the text of the article manuscript and the final version of the article ready for publication. A maximum of 20% guarantee is allowed for submitted packages. If a similarity index exceeds 20%, the article will be returned to the author for revision and resubmission.
Definition:
Plagiarism involves "the use or imitation of the language and ideas of another author and the presentation of it as if it were one's own original work."
Policy:
Papers must be original, unpublished, and not currently in the process of being published elsewhere. Any material taken verbatim from another source must be clearly identified as distinct from the original text by (1) indentation, (2) use of quotation marks, and (3) identification of the source.
Any text exceeding fair use standards (defined here as more than two or three or equivalent) or any graphic material reproduced from another source requires permission from the copyright holder and, if applicable, the original author, and requires attribution to the source; for example, a previous publication.
If plagiarism is found, the Editor-in-Chief responsible for reviewing the paper will approve the action according to the level of plagiarism detected in the paper, according to the following guidelines:
Level of Plagiarism
Minor Plagiarism
A short sentence or paragraph from another manuscript is plagiarized without significant data or ideas taken from the other paper or publication.
Penalty: A warning is issued to the author and a request to amend the manuscript and properly cite the original source.
Medium Plagiarism
Significant data, paragraphs, or sentences in an article are plagiarized without proper citation of the original source.
Penalty: The submitted article will be automatically rejected.
Serious Plagiarism
A significant portion of the article is plagiarized, involving multiple aspects, such as producing original results (data, formulations, equations, laws, statements, etc.), ideas, and methods presented in other publications.
Penalty: The paper will be automatically rejected, and the author will be barred from submitting further articles to that journal.
