Analisis Beberapa Sifat Fisik Tanah Di Lahan Yang Telah Di Konservasi Pada Tanaman Jagung (Zea Mays L.) Di Desa Tilihuwa Kecamatan Limboto Kabupaten Gorontalo
Abstract
Agricultural land in Indonesia is generally classified into two types: dryland and wetland. The
development of dryland agriculture is expected to contribute significantly to the agricultural
sector in Indonesia. This research aimed to examine the influence of soil conservation on soil
physical properties in Tilihuwa Village, Limboto Subdistrict, Gorontalo Regency, and to compare
the physical properties of soils in conserved (protected) and unprotected maize cultivation areas.
The research was conducted in Limboto Subdistrict, Gorontalo Province, and laboratory analyses
were carried out at the Soil Science Laboratory of Universitas Negeri Gorontalo from April to
July 2024. The research employed a survey method in which the conserved maize plots were
selected randomly. Based on the topographic layout of the land, soil sampling was conducted
according to slope classes, which were categorized into three classes. Soil samples were collected
randomly from five points within each slope class for both conserved and unprotected areas,
focusing on key physical soil properties. The results showed that conserved plots were classified
into three slope categories: 3-7%, 8-15%, and 16-25%. In contrast, the unprotected plots had
slope categories of 7-12%, 8-15%, and 16-25%.
