RESPON PERTUMBUHAN VEGETATIF DUA VARIETAS TANAMAN TERUNG ( Solanum melongena L.) TERHADAP CEKAMAN KEKERINGAN

Abstract


This study aims to examine the vegetative growth response of two varieties of eggplant (Solanum melongena L.), varieties Mustang F1 and Antaboga-1 varieties, to drought stress. The study was conducted at the BPTPH Gorontalo Province from October to December 2023. The current study employed a factorial Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with two factors: the first factor was the variety consisting of two levels: Mustang F1 and Antaboga-1. The second factor was drought stress which consisted of three levels, namely: no watered (control), without watering at the age of 11-21 DAP (Days After Planting), without watering at the age of 21-41 DAP, without watering at the age of 21-51 DAP. Subsequently, observation data were analyzed using ANOVA with a DMRT  test. The results indicated that drought stress affected plant growth, including plant height, leaf area, and number of leaves. In the meantime, the Mustang F1 variety was more tolerant and adaptive to drought stress than the Antaboga-1 variety, indicated by a lower and stable stress sensivity indekx at various levels of drought.
