Pengaruh Pupuk Organik pada Pertumbuhan dan Hasil Dua Varietas Tanaman Jagung (Zea mays L.)

Abstract


Corn is one of the agricultural commodities that plays a vital role in supporting food security and driving national economic growth. This study aims to determine the effect of organic fertilizer on the growth and yield of two varieties of corn (Zea mays L.) and to assess the interaction between organic fertilizer and the two corn varieties. The study was conducted in Huluduotamo Village, Suwawa Sub-district, Bone Bolango Regency, from October to December 2024 A factorial randomized block design (RBD) was performed, consisting of two factors. The first factor was organic fertilizer (P) with four levels, and the second factor was corn variety (V) with two levels, each replicated three times. The findings showed that the highest yields were obtained from the control treatment (PO) across all observation parameters. This indicates that the application of organic fertilizer had a negative effect, such as nutrient immobilization. There was an interaction between organic fertilizer and corn variety on the plant height parameter at 4 and 6 weeks after planting, whereas no interaction was observed for the parameters of leaf number, number of kernel rows per cob, ear weight without husk, and dry shelled corn weight.
