Pemanfaatan Rempah Tradisional Kunyit Kawasan Teluk Tomini Sebagai Vitamin Herbal dalam Pencegahan Jantung Pada Masyarakat Pentadu Barat, Kabupaten Boalemo, Provinsi Gorontalo

Abstract


Aterosklerosis merupakan penyebab umum penyakit serebro-kardiovaskular dan merupakan kondisi pembuluh darah bisa kronis. Fungsi mekanistik kurkumin terhadap aterosklerosis sebagian disebabkan oleh efek anti-inflamasi dan anti-oksidatifnya serta penghambatan proliferasi dan migrasi sel otot polos pembuluh darah. Untuk itu, pengabdian dilaksanakan bertujuan untuk meningkatkan peran aktif masyarakat, dalam  program pencegahan penyakit jantung melalui pemanfaatan kunyit yang diolah menjadi serbuk minuman dan makanan. Metode pelaksanaan yang digunakan pada kegiatan ini terdiri atas dua bagian, yaitu Seminar dan Workshop. Seminar tentang pentingnya kunyit dalam menjaga kesehatan jantung disampaikan langsung oleh dosen pembimbing lapangan dan Workshop pembuatan suplemen herbal dipraktikan langsung oleh mahasiswa peserta KKN Profesi kesehatan didampingi langsung oleh dosen pembimbing lapangan serta pembuatan disaksikan langung oleh peserta undangan yang terdiri dari pemerintah desa dan masyarakat. Pembuatan produk herbal minuman herbal frape di praktikan langsung oleh tamu undangan kegiatan. Produk Puding dan Minuman herbal frappe mendapatkan respon positif pada saat disuguhkan kepada undangan. Respon berupa aroma, dan rasa yang baik,serta efek segar yang dirasakan pada saat dikonsumsi. Selain itu Kedua produk ini dapat meningkatkan kesehatan jantung khususnya untuk masyarakat yang bekerja sebagai di waktu cuaca ekstrim seperti nelayan yang merupakan mata pencaharian terbesar didesa pentadu barat, dan dinilai  dapat meningkatkan ekonomi desa, karena kedua produk suplemen herbal ini potensi untuk dijual serta dapat dimasukan dalam program peningkatan gizi masyarakat.
