PENDIRIAN BANK SAMPAH SEBAGAI SOLUSI PENGOLAHAN SAMPAH ANORGANIK BERBASIS MASYARAKAT DESA DOROREJO
Abstract
The problem of inorganic waste management remains a challenge in Dororejo Village, particularly in Dukuh Dorogunung, even though the community has developed an initial awareness of maintaining environmental cleanliness through a routine waste collection program coordinated by local youth. The limited availability of advanced waste management systems has caused confusion among residents regarding proper methods for managing inorganic waste. The Thematic Community Service Program (Kuliah Kerja Nyata/KKN) 63 on Ecotheology and Land Affairs was implemented as a form of community service by initiating the establishment of a community-based waste bank. The implementation method applied a participatory approach through field observations involving direct participation in routine waste collection activities, as well as interviews with village officials and residents of Dukuh Dorogunung. The results indicate that the establishment of the waste bank created a more structured system for inorganic waste management, increased community participation, and provided economic benefits through a waste savings mechanism. The waste bank also strengthened the role of youth and the community in maintaining environmental cleanliness sustainably and supported participatory-based community empowerment.
