Pengaruh Power Distance Terhadap Adopsi SIMRS: Tinjauan Literatur Naratif
Abstract
The implementation of the Hospital Management Information System (SIMRS) is a strategic step to enhance efficiency and service quality in hospitals. However, many hospitals, especially in high power distance countries like Indonesia, face challenges in optimizing SIMRS adoption. This study explores how power distance within hospital organizational culture affects the acceptance and adoption of SIMRS by hospital staff. Using a narrative review approach, the study integrates literature discussing the cultural, technical, and managerial factors that influence the technology acceptance process. The synthesis results show that high power distance organizational structures hinder staff involvement in technology-related decision-making, leading to resistance against SIMRS adoption. Open managerial support and effective staff training can reduce these barriers, increase staff involvement, and accelerate SIMRS adoption. The conclusion of this study suggests that hospitals with high power distance should adopt a more inclusive and open approach in managerial communication and SIMRS implementation. Recommendations for future quantitative research include further investigating the impact of power distance on SIMRS acceptance in hospitals using a broader research model, and comparing these findings with countries with low power distance, such as Scandinavian countries.
