Author Guidelines

JPTI : Jurnal Pengabdian Teknik Industri provides a place for academics, researchers, and practitioners to publish scientific articles. All texts sent to the Lamahu editors are accepted in Indonesian and English. Make sure that your paper is prepared using the JPTI Template. A maximum of 15 pages can be made (final edit)

1.1 General Guidelines

The manuscript is typed using the MS pro=gram. Word (font Times New Roman 11 pt), A4 paper size (21x29.7cm), using margins of 2 cm from all sides, spacing 1, maximum of 15 pages including tables and figures and each page of manuscripts are given page numbers in sequence. Illustration of result data research in the form of drawings can be in the form of maps, photographs, flow charts, nerves, or charts. Images or tables can be placed in a text box placed at the top or bottom of the page. The data in the table are arranged logically so that the information conveyed can be understood correctly. The tables are numbered sequentially with the title and table number above the table. Equations must be numbered in parentheses. Equations must be prepared using equation (not in image format). The equation number must be placed on the right-hand side.

1.2 Composition of Manuscripts

Manuscripts must contain at least the following material: title, author's name, affiliation and address, abstract in English and Indonesia, introduction, method, results and discussion, conclusion, thank you (optional), references.

Title. Describe the main contents of the text in a concise and clear manner of a maximum of 12 words, written in Indonesian for manuscripts in Indonesian and written in English for manuscripts in English.

The author's full name. Written in full (not abbreviated) and without a title.

The full address of the author. The full name of the agency, the author's origin, and the municipal agency's mailing address, postal code, and the country

Abstract Abstract A maximum of 150 Indonesian words printed in italics with Times New Roman 10 points. The abstract should be clear, descriptive, and provide a brief overview of community service issues undertaken/researched. Abstracts include reasons for selecting topics or the importance of research topics/community service, methods of research/devotion, and outcome summary. The abstract should end with a comment on the significance of the result of a brief conclusion.

Introduction  contains the background, problem formulation, activity objectives, and literature review. The author is required to quantitatively present the portrait, profile, and condition of the target audience involved in community service activities. Who can also describe the situation and potential of the area in terms of physical, social, economic, and environmental that are relevant to the activities carried out? Also, explain the potential used as material for community service activities. The author is asked to formulate the problem concretely and clearly in this section. Explain the objectives to be achieved in service activities.

This section is supported by a literature review used to support the concept of service. Authors are required to present a preliminary literature review (references to journal articles and conference proceedings) and up-to-date (references published within the last ten years). A literature review is not limited to theory but also empirical evidence. Enrich this introductory part with efforts that other parties have made. This article is the result of dedication downstream of research results; it can be the results of your research or other researchers.

Method, In the application method section, clearly and concisely describe the methods used to achieve the goals that have been proclaimed in the service activities. The service results must be measurable, and the authors are asked to explain the measuring tools used, both descriptively and qualitatively. Explain how to measure the level of achievement of the success of service activities. The story of triumph can be seen in terms of changes in attitudes, socio-culture, and the economy of the target community.

Results and Discussion Community service is an effort to disseminate science, technology, and art to the community. These activities must provide an added value for the community, both in economic activities, policies, and behavior change (social). Describe that service activities have provided changes to individuals/societies and institutions both in the short and long term.

This section describes how activities are carried out to achieve goals. Explain the indicators of achieving the goals and the benchmarks used to state the success of the service activities carried out. Express the advantages and disadvantages of the external or the main focus of the action if it is seen that it is by the conditions of the community at the location of the activity. Also, explain the difficulty in carrying out activities and production of goods and opportunities for future development. Who can strengthen articles with relevant documentation related to services or goods as outputs or the main focus of activities? Documentation can be in the form of images of the implementation or implementation process, images of product prototypes, tables, graphs, etc.

Conclusion should indicate the results obtained, the advantages and disadvantages, and the possibility of further development.Conclusions can be in paragraphs but should be in the form of points using numbering or bullets.

Acknowledgment Include the names of agencies that have contributed to helping the implementation of research. Also, include the name of the research funding agency.

References For good quality articles to be published, editors require authors to use primary references (journals) with a composition of at least 80% compared to other authorities in the Bibliography. Authors are requested to use up-to-date connections published in the last 5 to 10 years. This journal does not use footnotes in the body of the manuscript, and all library sources follow the rules of citation writing and Bibliography.

In 2022, the in-text citation and bibliography display in JPTI jurnal followed the American Physicological Association (APA). For more details, authors can study writing in the APA Format Citation Guide or follow the instructions in the writing guide.Who must include who must mention all citations in the text in the references and all references in the text? Check the Bibliography for authorities in the text before submitting the manuscript. Citation in the text ( in-text citation ) must be by what is stated in the Bibliography. This citation is followed by or ends the sentence or phrase quoted from the source. In the manuscript, cite by including the author's last name followed by the year of publication of the cited article.

Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

  1. Manuscripts must be original, have not been published previously in any scientific journal, that manuscripts are not being submitted for publication elsewhere.
  2. The submission file is in Microsoft Word file format, following the author guidelines and article template. Please make sure that you use Mendeley to help in referencing. A guide to using Mendeley as a reference manager is provided.
  3. Where available, URLs or DOIs for the references must be provided, and try to use the most up-to-date references. Do pay attention that JPTI prefers journal articles, research reports, and conference proceedings as the main references.
  4. If submitting to a peer-reviewed section of the journal, the instructions in Ensuring a Blind Review have been followed.
  5. The author is willing to follow the entire editing process until the manuscript is declared accepted or rejected for publication. If you wish to discontinue the process, the author should notify the editor with an email for article withdrawal.
