PENERAPAN MESIN PEMBUAT PAKAN TERNAK PADA KELOMPOK USAHA MIKRO PETANI JAGUNG DI KABUPATEN TAKALAR
Abstract
Most corn farmers in Takalar Regency process corn traditionally and have difficulty processing their corn into animal feed which has a higher selling value, even though the corn cobs have not been processed as feed. Applying corn processing machines with appropriate technology can be the right solution for processing corn and corn cobs as animal feed. The method used in making this corn processing machine is divided into several stages, including design, component manufacture, assembly process, and machine performance testing before being donated to partners. The materials used are easy to obtain on the local market and can be made in simple workshops. Based on the results of machine testing on 3 different cycles, the processing percentage and capacity for corn kernels was 80% for ∅ 3 mm (1kg/4 minutes), Ø6 mm (1kg/8 minutes), and 50% (1kg/8 minutes). Community partnership empowerment (PKM) activities for corn farmer community groups, especially the "Sipakabaji" partners, can increase partner income and the donated machines can also become a means of technology transfer which can be further developed by other corn farmer business groups in the partner area and in Takalar Regency in general.
