Abstract

Abstract
Mental health has become a critical issue faced by Generation Z in Indonesia
amid rapid globalization, accelerated digital transformation, and increasing
academic and social demands. This generation is particularly vulnerable to
psychological pressures, including academic stress, performance anxiety, mental
fatigue, and emotional imbalance. This study aims to describe Generation Z’s
understanding of mental health and to examine the impact of an educational
webinar on improving mental health literacy in the era of globalization. The study
employed a descriptive approach with an evaluative orientation, focusing on
Generation Z participants involved in a mental health webinar. Data were analyzed
descriptively and analytically by linking the findings to mental health theories and
the psychological characteristics of Generation Z. The results indicate that mental
health issues are prevalent among Generation Z students, particularly related to
academic pressure, social media exposure, and achievement-oriented culture. The
webinar contributed positively to enhancing participants’ understanding of mental
health concepts, risk factors, early symptoms of psychological disorders, and
preventive and adaptive coping strategies. In conclusion, mental health education
through multidisciplinary and humanistic approaches plays a strategic role in
increasing awareness, reducing stigma, and strengthening the mental resilience of
Generation Z in facing the challenges of globalization.
