REVIEW POLICY
The peer review system serves to evaluate and validate academic work, aiding in the improvement of the quality of published service articles and strengthening connectivity within the service community. The peer review process forms the foundation for the Journal AGRINESIA: Jurnal Ilmiah Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat in ensuring the quality and validity of the produced articles.
The crucial role in the world of scientific publishing is undertaken by Reviewers (Peer Partners). Journal AGRINESIA: Jurnal Ilmiah Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat implements a Double Blind Review system, where the identities of reviewers are concealed from authors, and vice versa, ensuring an unbiased decision-making process. This approach facilitates the achievement of objective decisions, and reviewers cannot be influenced by their relationships with the authors.
All contributions of articles are initially assessed by the editor to ensure compliance with journal standards. Articles deemed suitable are sent to at least two independent reviewers to assess the quality and ensure the robustness of the review process. The editor holds full responsibility for the final decision regarding the acceptance or rejection of articles, and this decision is considered final.
Reviewers provide detailed and constructive comments, forming the basis for the editor to determine whether a manuscript is accepted or rejected. Several aspects that reviewers focus on include:
- Originality and Significance: Reviewers discuss the originality of the presented findings and whether these findings have a significant impact on the scientific community and society. If similar work is identified, reviewers may offer suggestions or criticisms to enhance the presentation of research results.
- Problem Discussion: Reviewers evaluate how authors discuss the results of the service performed and its impact on problem resolution. This is commonly observed in the discussion section, which outlines and discusses each stage of the service activities conducted by the author in the article.
- Strengths and Weaknesses of the Methods Used: Reviewers evaluate the methods used, including statistical analysis or other methods that may influence the interpretation of results. Critiques aim to enhance the quality of the reviewed article.
- Reliability of Service Results and Conclusions: Reviewers assess the reliability of service results and conclusions. Reliability is measured through the completeness of the analysis and data presented. Conclusions are verified to ensure they are supported by adequate data and service results, addressing the objectives of the service activities.
- Layout Alignment with Guidelines: This process facilitates the editor in the editing and formatting process. While reviewers may evaluate this aspect, the primary focus remains on the substantive quality of the article.
- Relevant Reference Materials: Reviewers evaluate the reference materials used in the article for relevance to the topic and issues. Additionally, reviewers may address grammatical corrections in the article, although this is not part of the peer review process. Reviewers may suggest grammar corrections in the manuscript while maintaining a primary focus on their main task of evaluating the substance of an article.
- Suggestions and Input: If there are errors or deficiencies in the article, reviewers provide clear views on which parts need improvement and actions that can be taken to enhance the quality of the article.
