Abstract


The study aimed to determine the effect of the school field introduction (PLP) program and interest in teaching on the readiness to become teachers among students at the Department of Economics Education, Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Negeri Gorontalo, Class of 2020. It employed a quantitative approach using a descriptive research method. The data used in this study were primary data obtained by distributing questionnaires to students at the Department of Economics Education with a sample of 65 respondents. Furthermore, the data analysis was conducted using multiple linear regression analysis with the help of SPSS 21 softwareand significantly affected the readiness to become teachers among students at the Department of Economics Education, Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Negeri Gorontalo, Class of 2020. (2) interest in teaching negatively and significantly affected the readiness to become teachers among students at the Department of Economics Education, Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Negeri Gorontalo, Class of 2020. (3) sin aneously, the school field introduction (PLP) program and interest in teaching significantly affected the readiness to become teachers among students at the Department of Economics Education, Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Negeri Gorontalo, Class of 2020. These results were strengthened by the coefficient of determination (Adjusted R Square) value of 0.797, indicating that 79.7% of the variability in readiness to become teachers among students at the Department of Economics Education, Faculty of Economics and Business
