Penentuan Kadar Flavonoid Daun Sembung (Blumea balsamifer) menggunakan Metode Spektrofotometri UV-Vis
Abstract
Indonesian people use herbal medicines for the prevention and treatment of disease Data collected in 2010 show that the use of herbal medicine in Indonesia reaches 59.12%. This shows that the us of herbal medicines in Indonesia has increased.One of the medicinal plantsused by the community is Sembung leaves (Blumea balsmifer). People in Gorontalo used to call this plant Tapulapunga. Sembung leaves (Blumea balsmifer) is one of the biopharmaceutical plants that has many benefits. Indonesia people use Sembung leaves to treat influenza, rheumatism, menstrualpain, irregular menstruation, fever, asthma, cough, bronchitis, flatulence, diarrhea, and diabetes. This study aims to indetify the flavonoid compounds in Sembung leaves (Blumea balsmifer). The results of the study showed that the three samples, namely n-hexane extract, ethyl acetate, and ethanol 96% with the results of qualitative analysis with a cycling test showing positive that they contained flavonoids. Meanwhile, in the thin-layer chromotographic test, the Rf value for flavonoid compounds ranges from 0.2 -0.8 with other states can be seen from the fluorescence results formed. Based on color, it appears spots of light green, green, red, yellow fluorescent colors. The results of the quantitative analysis with a wavelength of 400 nm of ethanol extraction of 96% showed y 0.030x + 0.342 with a value of R² = 0.961. The flavonoid content was 1.8521% for ethanol extract 96%, 1.6032% for ethyl acetate extract and 0.1253% for n-hexane extract. This study showed the presence of flavonoid compounds in Sembung leaves by looking at the wavelength produced from each of the extracts.
