Formulasi dan Uji Fisik Hand and body lotion Sari buah tomat (Solanum lypersicum L.) yang berkhasiat sebagai Antioksidan

Abstract


Tomatoes are one of the natural ingredients that have many benefits, one of which is used to maintain healthy skin. Tomatoes have the main content of lycopene, which is a very high antioxidant compound, besides that tomatoes also contain flavonoids, vitamin C, and also vitamin E, Anti-oxidants contained in tomato content can fight free radicals due to too frequent exposure to sunlight. This study aimed to determine the effectiveness of tomato juice lotion (Solanum lypersicum L.) with variations in active substance concentrations of 5%, 10%, and 15%. This research was conducted using experimental research, namely making Hand Body Lotion preparations from Tomato Fruit Juice (Solanum lypersicum L.) as an antioxidant. The work procedure consists of sampling, plant identification (Tomato fruit), sample processing, lotion preparation making, and lotion preparation evaluation including organoleptical test, homogeneity test, pH test, spreadability test, adhesion test, stability test, and antioxidant test using DPPH method. Evaluation testing of lotion preparation fulfills the requirements of lotion quality test parameters. As well as in antioxidant testing, the results obtained from the formulation of tomato juice Hand and body lotion (Solanum lypersicum L.) active substance concentrations of 5%, 10%, 15% provide antioxidant effects. Because tomato juice had more active material than FI or FII, the IC50 value for FIII was higher at 23,162.01 mg/L. However, the stability test centrifuge results revealed a separation between the water and oil phases in the formula I,II,III. Tomatoes separate because of their highwater content. This demonstrates the instability of the FI, FII, and FIII lotion preparations. The formulation of tomato juice Hand and body lotion (Solanum lypersicum L.) provide antioxidant effects.
