Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi strategi pengembangan olahraga rekreasi di Kabupaten Sinjai, Sulawesi Selatan. Pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif diimplementasikan dengan menggunakan data primer dan sekunder yang dikumpulkan melalui observasi lapangan, wawancara, kajian dokumentasi, dan diskusi kelompok fokus. Informan kunci terdiri dari 11 orang, yaitu 2 pejabat pemerintah, 3 pengelola tempat wisata, 4 anggota kelompok masyarakat pemerhati olahraga dan pariwisata, serta 2 akademisi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pengembangan olahraga rekreasi di Sinjai terhambat oleh beberapa tantangan, yaitu keterbatasan sumber daya manusia, minimnya kesadaran masyarakat, perubahan gaya hidup, dan kurangnya fasilitas olahraga serta ruang terbuka. Berdasarkan temuannya, direkomendasikan beberapa strategi pengembangan, antara lain: peningkatan kapasitas Sumber Daya Manusia (SDM) melalui pelatihan dan penambahan personel; edukasi dan promosi program untuk meningkatkan kesadaran masyarakat tentang manfaat olahraga rekreasi; penyesuaian pola hidup agar selaras dengan gaya hidup sehat; dan penyediaan fasilitas pendukung seperti trotoar aman, jalur sepeda, dan taman publik yang memadai.
