PENDEKATAN PARTISIPATIF DALAM REVITALISASI WATERFRONT KAWASAN WISATA PANTAI INDAH POHE TANGGA 2000 DI KOTA GORONTALO

Abstract

Indah Pohe Beach, located in the Tanjung Kramat neighborhood on the southern western coast of Gorontalo City, has long been a popular tourist destination due to its natural beauty. Since the 1980s, it has served as an alternative leisure spot for the local community. However, over time, the facilities at this site, including changing rooms and small business stalls, have fallen into disrepair due to a decline in visitors. This situation highlights the need for a waterfront revitalization to restore the area’s appeal. The revitalization plan adopts a participatory approach, which emphasizes involving the local community in every phase of planning and implementation. This approach aims to develop solutions that are in line with the needs of the community while also promoting local economic development, particularly through the empowerment of small and micro businesses (SMEs). The revitalization process consists of four main stages: first, socialization to inform the community about the revitalization plan; second, surveys and observations to assess the current state of the area; third, Focus Group Discussions (FGDs) to gather ideas and suggestions from various stakeholders; and fourth, completion, which includes the implementation and evaluation of the revitalization efforts. Through active community involvement, the revitalization of Indah Pohe Beach is expected to enhance tourism facilities and provide long-term benefits for local economic empowerment.
