PROGRAM DESA TIHU ASRI, LESTARI, BERSIH, SEHAT, DAN INDAH (TALI BESI) SEBAGAI BENTUK PENGUATAN KAPASITAS DESA PESISIR TIHU DALAM PENCAPAIAN SDGS 3, 6, DAN 15

Abstract

Despite their strategic location, coastal villages often face a double burden in development. They face challenges such as limited access to healthcare and environmental vulnerability; on order side low economic well-being hinders the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) at the local level. The ”Tali Besi” (Tihu Asri-Lestari-Bersih-Sehat dan Indah) or sustainable, clean, healthy, and beautiful program was launched as a strategic initiative by the Faculty of Education, Universitas Negeri Gorontalo  to strengthen the capacity of the Tihu Village community in achieving SDG Goal 3 (Good Health and Well-being), Goal 6 (Clean Water and Sanitation), and Goal 15 (Life on Land). Using a participatory approach through Participatory Rural Appraisal (PRA), this program integrates a series of innovative activities, including the establishment of a waste bank, training in seafood processing, the development of backyard farming, the construction of rainwater harvesting systems, and the strengthening of an education curriculum based on local potential. The results of these activities are projected to not only improve the level of clean and healthy living practices (PHBS) and residents’ economic self-reliance but also facilitate the institutionalization of the Village Action Plan (RAD) for the SDGs, integrated into the Village Medium-Term Development Plan (RPJM Desa), to ensure the sustainability of the impacts. Through synergy between universities and the community, this program is expected to become a model centre of excellence for the empowerment of coastal villages in accelerating sustainable development in the Tomini Bay region.
