Analisis Toksisitas Ekstrak Minyak Sacha Inchi (Plukenetia volubilis)

Abstract


Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi tingkat toksisitas ekstrak minyak biji Sacha Inchi (Plukenetia volubilis) menggunakan metode Brine Shrimp Lethality Test (BSLT) dengan larva Artemia salina Leach sebagai organisme uji. Sampel minyak diekstraksi melalui dua metode berbeda, yaitu press hidrolik dan sokletasi. Uji dilakukan pada empat variasi konsentrasi, yaitu 1.250 ppm, 2.500 ppm, 5.000 ppm, dan 10.000 ppm, dengan tiga kali pengulangan untuk masing-masing sampel. Hasil pengujian menunjukkan bahwa persentase mortalitas larva meningkat seiring kenaikan konsentrasi. Pada minyak sacha inchi hasil press hidrolik, mortalitas mencapai 46,7% pada konsentrasi 10.000 ppm, 40,0% pada 5.000 ppm, 10,0% pada 2.500 ppm, dan 0% pada 1.250 ppm. Sementara itu, pada minyak sacha inchi hasil sokletasi, mortalitas larva sebesar 46,7% pada 10.000 ppm, 20,0% pada 5.000 ppm, 13,3% pada 2.500 ppm, dan 0% pada 1.250 ppm. Nilai LC₅₀ diperoleh sebesar 15,249 mg/mL untuk minyak press hidrolik dan 18,532 mg/mL untuk minyak sokletasi. Berdasarkan kriteria toksisitas, kedua nilai tersebut termasuk kategori non-toksik karena memiliki LC₅₀ > 1.000 µg/mL. Hasil ini menunjukkan bahwa minyak biji Sacha Inchi aman digunakan pada uji pendahuluan toksisitas akut berbasis BSLT, serta sejalan dengan karakteristik minyak nabati edible lainnya.
