Efikasi dan Keamanan Balneoterapi dan Obat Herbal Tiongkok sebagai Terapi Adjuvan Psoriasis Vulgaris: Tinjauan Pustaka
Abstract
Psoriasis is a chronic inflammatory skin disease that could persistently active in a long period of time, even lifetime. Although it only attacks 2-3% of the population globally with multifactorial causes, complications in several organs and quality of life make psoriasis one of the main health concerns. Treatment using balneotherapy and Chinese herbal medicine is currently an actual topic to be developed as a potential therapy for psoriasis vulgaris. Objective: to analyze balneotherapy and Chinese Herbal Medicine efficacy and safety as an adjuvant therapy for psoriasis to achieve remission period. Study searches were obtained through reference sources from Google Scholar, PubMed, and Wiley. The inclusion criteria for the literature review were original articles published in Indonesian and English, and discussing combination balneotherapy with Chinese herbal medicine as psoriasis therapy. Based on the literature results, it was found that there was a relationship between balneotherapy and psoriasis vulgaris. This score can reduce the PASI score and remission time. From the study results, it was found that providing balneotherapy (p<0.001), Chinese herbal medicine (p=0.098), and both (p<0.001) were beneficial in using the PASI score. Balneotherapy, Chinese herbal medicine and a combination of both can be used as adjuvant therapy in psoriasis vulgaris patients.
