Abstract

This study aims to test and evaluate the mediating role of ROE in the relationship between inflation and DER on stock prices. This study uses a quantitative approach with a purposive sampling technique. The research sample consists of 45 companies, of which 25 are infrastructure construction sub-sector companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange during the period 2018 to 2022. The analysis method used is Partial Least Square (PLS) with the help of SmartPLS 3.0 software. The results of the study show seven main conclusions, including: Inflation has no effect on ROE, DER has an effect on ROE, inflation and DER do not affect stock prices, ROE has an effect on stock prices, ROE is not sufficient to mediate the relationship between inflation and stock prices, but is sufficient to mediate the relationship between DER and stock prices.
