Author Fee

JAMBURA Journal of Architecture (JJoA) is a fully open-access journal. All published articles are available free of charge to readers immediately upon publication, without subscription or access fees. To support the costs of publishing and maintaining open access, JJoA applies an Article Processing Charge (APC) to manuscripts that are accepted for publication.

1. Summary of Fees

Type of feeAmount
Submission fee Free (IDR 0)
Peer-review fee
Article Processing Charge (APC), charged only after acceptance IDR 250,000 per article
Reader access fee Free (open access)

The APC of IDR 250,000 has been in effect since 1 January 2022 and applies to all accepted manuscripts regardless of their submission date. The APC is charged per article, not per author or per page.

2. What the APC Covers

The APC supports the services required to publish an article and to keep it permanently and freely available, including:

  • Similarity checking of manuscripts using Turnitin;
  • Management of the editorial and peer-review process through the online journal system;
  • Copyediting, layout, and production of the final article in PDF format;
  • Registration of a Digital Object Identifier (DOI) through Crossref;
  • Online hosting, metadata dissemination, and submission to indexing services;
  • Long-term digital preservation of published articles.

3. When the APC Is Charged

Authors are not required to pay any fee when submitting a manuscript or during peer review. The APC is requested only after the manuscript has been formally accepted for publication. The corresponding author will receive an acceptance notification together with the payment information and the applicable amount.

Manuscripts that are rejected at any stage of the editorial or peer-review process are not charged.

4. Payment Procedure

  1. After acceptance, the editorial office sends the payment details to the corresponding author by e-mail.
  2. The corresponding author transfers the APC to the account below:
    Bank: Bank Negara Indonesia (BNI)
    Account number: [Account number]
    Account holder: Universitas Negeri Gorontao
  3. The corresponding author sends the proof of payment to the editorial office by e-mail with the subject line APC Payment: [Manuscript Title], or uploads it in the submission system.
  4. The editorial office confirms receipt of payment, and the article proceeds to final production and publication in the scheduled issue.

Payment should be made within [14] days of the acceptance notification. Delayed payment may cause the article to be moved to a later issue. A payment receipt can be provided upon request for institutional reimbursement.

5. Waiver Policy

JJoA is committed to ensuring that the APC does not prevent the publication of quality research. Authors who are unable to pay the APC may request a full or partial waiver. A waiver may be considered for:

  • Authors who demonstrate financial hardship and have no institutional or research funding to cover the APC;
  • Authors from low-income countries;
  • Other circumstances considered reasonable by the editorial office.

Waiver requests should be submitted by the corresponding author to the editorial office, with a brief explanation of the reason, at the time of submission (in the Comments to the Editor field) or no later than the acceptance notification. Each request is assessed individually, and the decision will be communicated to the author upon acceptance.

6. Editorial Independence

Editorial decisions are based solely on scholarly quality, originality, relevance to the journal's focus and scope, and the outcome of peer review. The ability or inability to pay the APC, and any request for a waiver, has no influence on editorial decisions. Editors and reviewers are not informed of authors' payment or waiver status during the review process.

7. Withdrawal and Refunds

  • Authors may withdraw a manuscript at any time before acceptance without any charge.
  • Withdrawal after acceptance is discouraged. If an article is withdrawn after the APC has been paid but before publication, the refund policy is as follows: [refund conditions].
  • The APC is not refundable after the article has been published, including in cases of post-publication correction or retraction in accordance with the JJoA Correction and Retraction Policy.
