MANUSCRIPT TYPES ACCEPTED
Type of Manuscript
JAMBURA Journal of Architecture (JJoA) considers the following types of scholarly manuscripts, provided that they establish a clear and substantive connection with the journal's focus and scope:
- Original Research Articles
Empirical studies reporting original findings based on quantitative, qualitative, or mixed-methods research. Manuscripts should present a clear research problem, explain the methods used, and discuss the findings and their contribution to knowledge or practice. - Conceptual and Theoretical Articles
Articles that develop, refine, integrate, or critically examine concepts, theories, models, or frameworks. Manuscripts must provide a coherent scholarly argument grounded in relevant literature and demonstrate a distinct theoretical contribution. - Systematic Literature Reviews and Bibliometric Studies
Studies that systematically synthesize existing research or examine patterns in scholarly publications. Manuscripts should explain their search strategy, data sources, selection criteria, and analytical procedures sufficiently to support transparency and reproducibility. - Case Studies
Research-based analyses of architectural subjects, such as buildings, settlements, urban spaces, communities, design practices, construction systems, heritage areas, or built-environment policies. Manuscripts should explain the basis for case selection, data collection, and analysis, and demonstrate implications beyond a purely descriptive account of the case.
- Methodological Studies
Articles that propose, adapt, test, or critically evaluate research, design, analytical, or evaluation methods applicable to architecture, architectural design, building science, the sustainable built environment, urban design, building technology, and related built-environment studies.
Submission requirements: Authors should identify the manuscript type when submitting. Each submission must demonstrate originality, adequate scholarly grounding, a clear contribution, and methods or an analytical approach appropriate to its manuscript type.
Manuscript preparation: Authors must follow the journal's Author Guidelines and official template. The organization of conceptual articles, reviews, and other manuscript types may be adapted to the nature of the work, with any necessary departures from the standard research structure explained to the editor.
