Summary

Applied mathematics plays a crucial role in understanding and predicting complex biological phenomena, ranging from population dynamics, disease transmission, and ecosystem interactions to processes at the molecular level. Modern approaches integrate mathematical modeling, optimal and adaptive control theory, and advanced computational techniques to analyze nonlinear and dynamic biological systems.

Optimal and adaptive control methods can be applied to design effective intervention strategies, such as in medical treatment, epidemic eradication, or species conservation. By leveraging the power of artificial intelligence (AI), these approaches enable more efficient simulations, accurate predictions, and optimized solutions for biological systems, even under uncertainty and large-scale data conditions.

We welcome original research devoted to the study of problems in biological sciences through the combination of mathematical modeling, optimal and adaptive control, and state-of-the-art AI techniques, with an emphasis on real-world biological applications.
