ACARES: Journal of Architecture and Community Services
ACARES: Journal of Architecture and Community Services is a peer-reviewed scholarly periodical dedicated to publishing the outcomes of community service initiatives within the fields of architecture and the built environment. The journal serves as a platform for disseminating ideas, practical experiences, and innovative service projects that deliver tangible, participatory, and sustainable impacts for the community.
Call for Submissions
ACARES invites academics, practitioners, researchers, and community service activists to submit scientific articles detailing the implementation of community engagement projects. The scope of the journal encompasses diverse aspects of:
- Architecture and Landscape Architecture
- Settlements and Urban Studies
- Regional Planning and Design
- Interior Design
- Building Technology and Engineering
- Community Service
- Potential topics for publication include, but are not limited to:
- Community empowerment based on the built environment.
- Application of appropriate technology at the local scale.
- Revitalization of public spaces and residential areas.
- Community development through participatory design.
- Environmental adaptation strategies for climate change.
- Social practices in architecture, settlements, and sustainable infrastructure.
Publication Frequency
ACARES is published electronically as a medium for scientific publication that supports the strengthening of collaboration between higher education institutions, the community, and stakeholders in realizing an improved built environment. The journal is published biannually, with issues released in April and September.
